On November 23, 2025 (Sunday), the Jilin Association (Jilin Fellow Association) held its annual expanded council meeting in Toronto. This milestone meeting marked the official completion of the new leadership transition, embarking on a new development journey of development.

Founding presidents Gong Mengnan, Liu Jijun, Jiang Zuqing and other founding members attended. Current council members and active association members reviewed the 20-plus years of development. From the initial hometown bonding to a community with over a thousand members today. group size, unity, harmony, pragmatism, and friendship are what people say about the Jilin Association's shared assessment.

The council highly recognized President Yang Guang's work over the past six years. Under his leadership, the association grew in scale, activities became richer, and connections among fellows became closer. In addition to the annual New Year gala and summer BBQ, in the past two years, senior activities have been vibrant.

At a critical moment of steady development, President Yang Guang chose to proactively pass the baton to a new generation, injecting new momentum into the organization's long-term development. This move was unanimously praised by attendees.

By unanimous show of hands from all attending council members: former Executive Vice President Gao Yansong (Jason Gao) was officially elected as the new President of the Jilin Association.

At the meeting, former leaders placed high hopes on the new leadership. President Jason Gao made clear commitments for future development directions:

  1. Strengthen the existing council and establish an advisory committee, inviting the older generation and more social elites to provide guidance for the association's development.
  2. Enhance the overall quality and influence of the annual "Jilin Fellow Spring Festival Gala", allowing more fellows to participate and showcase the spirit of Jilin people.
  3. Strengthen cooperation and exchange with other Chinese community organizations in Toronto, further enhancing the association's visibility and influence, promoting continuous growth, and serving a larger community.

President Yang Guang stated that he will continue to support the association's development as before, contribute his strength, and lead the Canada Jilin General Chamber of Commerce to work closely with the association.
